My first thought when watching this video was how it would feel to actually do the jump. First of all, there are many risks that could kill someone during the jump, like a malfunction in the space suit or the parachute, so they would have to overcome the fear of these risks. Before jumping, they would have to go through long, intense training, and they only get one try at it and one moment to experience what it's like. Also, because the whole world is waiting for them in suspense, they could either land successfully and become famous, or they could die. Because the whole world would be on their shoulders, that could cause them to be more reluctant to do the jump. The people watching from the base were very focused and got excited whenever the jumper achieved something, like a new record. In conclusion, no one would attempt to do the job unless they wanted to do it their entire life.

ReplyDeleteI like that you remembered the formal tone for your paragraph response here and some of the verbs and expressions you use are easy for a reader to picture. This is a fairly strong paragraph overall - may I use it to model some editing techniques that will make it even stronger? I will be doing this with several responses off and on throughout the year.
