Speech Draft - The Debate On International Travelling

What if travelling overseas was not allowed? What would the world be like if people couldn't visit other countries? Many people believe that going to new places is a good idea, but others oppose it. Which arguments outweigh the others? Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Mark, and the debate on international travelling is a new and popular topic, and I would like to relate to both sides of it. Some people use travelling for educational reasons, while others are more worried about money.
First, there are those who think that international travelling s a good idea. Visiting other places can have educational purposes. I remember watching a presentation about a tour to Europe; the presenters talked about learning about the the places they go. There are also TV shows where people travel and learn about different cultures around the world. Travelling also helps our economy, allowing airlines and tour companies to earn money. People also travel to other countries for work, like my dad did once to the Philippines. Sometimes people just travel for fun because they want a vacation.
Next, there are those who oppose or discourage international travelling. Travelling costs a lot, whether it's the production of airplanes, or out of your own budget because of flights, tours, and hotels. Pollution is also a problem. Every year, the world's commercial jet aircraft produce 600 million tons of CO2. In addition to those reasons, disease could be more easily spread, whether by human or through food poisoning. All this may make travelling not seem worth it.
The arguments for and against international travelling are both very strong. Some people say it's good for education and the economy, but other people say it's bad for the environment and our health. With whom do you agree with? It is your choice.

  1. Your speech idea is a very good one. You had a good intro. But, in the body of your speech I think you could have provided more examples and made it much longer, inless you are going to talk slowly. Also, you should give more reason's why international air traveling is good or bad. And maybe if you want you can add a joke into your speech. Overall though your speech is a good idea and good luck!

  2. Mark good job on picking a topic that is interesting. In the body of your speech, make sure you expand a bit more. Also if you have enough time, you should give your opinion on which one you agree with. I liked how your explained both sides of the debate. You did a great job on your speech, and your conclusion was good.
