Learning Log

1.       Today in class we had a substitute. We were going to watch a half hour filn and take notes but we couldn’t find the DvD. So instead we ready from page 38- 42. On pages 38-42 there was a story on the Middle Ages. We had to take notes on things we learned from the pictures of the story about The Middle Ages. We did the notes in the Cornell form. Then after we did a summary of the main things we learned about The Middle Ages in a paragraph. Then if you wanted you could do question 1-2 on page 42.

2.       We did this in class to practice our note taking skills. We also learned how to get assumptions from pictures and headings of a story.

3.     These skills could help you in every subject you are in. For example for math or science when you have a test coming up and you need to study, you will have notes. Or if you are in P.E. and you want to go home and do some exercise that you learned in class, but you can’t remember what it is, you can write it down. Or if you need to remember an appointment or anything in that matter, you can just write it down.  And sometimes you won’t always have writing to give you support of something, you will need to look at pi0ctures a titles.

4.       There was no homework today, But, you still finish the note making which was pages 9-20 with normal bullet notes, page 21-30 which was webbed notes and page 31 which was the new Cornell style. You can also check your timelines and make surveys for you genius hour project.

5.       A tip to help you with your homework is to set goals for you genius hour project and ask your peers for their opinions. Also, when you are taking notes remember it’s just a brief easy note of what the textbook says. Not word for word or a whole sentence long. Also, when you write out your summary for the story on page 38-42 remember to give lots of details.
