Summary
Today during class
we picked ourselves our own partner and pulled out our notes from chapter 1 in
the Pathways textbook that we wrote down a few weeks back. Ms. Lees handed out
an assessment sheet for us took look
over all out notes with and mark them based on the assessment sheet, you and
your partner both marked one of the two of yours and your partners notes at a
time. After we finished with the assessment sheet we wrote a reflection about
the notes we took on chapter 1 in the Pathways textbook. The questions for our
reflection were 1. What did you do well? Give examples and 2. What could you
improve on? Give examples. That’s a summary of today’s class.
Learning Intentions
Our learning intentions in class today were to
learn how to have good note taking skills. We went into partners so you can get
someone else’s opinion on your work because of course you think your own work
is perfect like mine. We also learned maybe some new strategy’s from the way
your partner is taking notes. I think the most important thing we learned today
was how to improve our note taking skills for next time and to learn what makes
excellent notes and okay notes.
Connections
Learning how to create good notes
could help you in many ways. For example, if you have a test coming up and you
need to study for it you could take notes to use for studying. Or, if your
teacher asks you to take notes for a project you will need to know how to take
good notes. There are so many different things you could use notes for! Note
taking is a great skill to have.
Homework
We had no homework assigned today
either than finish your reflection about your notes from chapter 1. Some old
homework is to keep track of your genius hour timeline because we are running
out of time and to finish reading your novel by tomorrow.
Tips
To help you with your homework
just remember when you’re marking your notes to mark them with your partner on
one paper at the same time. Also, don’t be doing all of your genius hour project
at school do some work at home!
